Sister Roberta also recalls that Father Sobb gave permission for the nuns to hold a garden fete in the Convent grounds to raise funds for their everyday needs. She will never forget the tremendous support on that particular occasion, and when the nuns had to be indoors by 6 pm, (the pre Vatican II rule), the good parishioners continued the fete well into the night. This support over the years and until the Convent was closed was most encouraging and the many friendships made between the resident nuns and the people created a great feeling of community spirit.
